"Always choose the hardest way, on it you will not find opponents"
~ Charles de Gaulle
Charles de Gaulle needs no introduction but still, we will be giving him one, because people nowadays don't know much about history - even the important one. Charles De Gaulle was one of the heroes of World War 2. He was a French army officer and statesman who led Free France against Nazi Germany and then chaired the Provisional Government of the French Republic from 1944 to 1946 in order to reestablish democracy there.
In 1958, he came out of retirement when appointed Prime Minister by President René Coty. He rewrote the Constitution of France and founded the Fifth Republic after approval by referendum. He was elected President of France later that year, a position to which he was reelected in 1965 and held until his resignation in 1969.
So it can be said that Mr. De Gaulle was one of the most important French nationals ever. Many streets and monuments in France are dedicated to his memory.
About Charles De Gaulle's Height
Charles De Gaulle was a huge man - even by today's standard, but for his time - he was veritably a giant. He was not called "the great asparagus" without a reason (though his high forehead and nose has something to do with it as well).
Wikipedia, IMDB, and some other respectable websites list him at a statuesque 6'5" (196 cm). What is the source of these listings? It is hard to tell. He was a military man, so his height must have been measured in the service. But such records are not on the internet anymore.
Though, there are many photos of him with some other world leaders of the past, like the US presidents - Harry S. Truman (5'9"), John F. Kennedy (6"), Richard Nixon (5'11"), and the UK prime minister Winston Churchill (5'6.5"). It is by the look of these photos we are going to list Mr. De Gaulle here. After comparing him to some other world leaders, we think Mr. De Gaulle was around 6'4" at his peak.
The height of Charles De Gaulle was
6'4" or 193 cm

"Nothing more enhances authority than silence. It is the crowning virtue of the strong, the refuge of the weak, the modesty of the proud, the pride of the humble, the prudence of the wise, and the sense of fools. To speak is to... dissipate one's strength; whereas what action demands is concentration. Silence is a necessary preliminary to the ordering of one's thoughts."
