"The longer it takes you to become successful, the harder it will be for somebody else to take it away from you."
~ Hugh Jackman
Who doesn’t know or love Hugh Jackman? The man is a legend. He is tall, he is wide-shouldered, he has that rugged good looks that make ladies go weak in the knee (even still), and besides he has such a wholesome personality to boot - he is a real gentleman - no wonder he is Hollywood’s one of the most beloved actors, as evident by Deadpool wearing his face mask in the movie Deadpool (2016).
Hugh first burst into the spotlight with his role of wolverine in the 2000 movie The X-Men. The movie was a critical and commercial success. Hugh, who has the most prominent role in the movie became an overnight star. But there was more to this than Hugh getting lucky. In fact, it was the director Brian Singer, who had hit the jackpot in Hugh.
He looked grumpy in the movie, acted sullen and angry but in a very charismatic way. Everyone who has watched the movie can testify to the fact that he looked nothing short of awesome.
About Hugh Jackman's Real Height
However, one thing which might have bothered some people, such as loyal comic book readers was Hugh’s height. You see Hugh claims to be 6’2” tall, while the wolverine in the comic books was 5’3” – that’s a near foot of height difference.
Well, it was just as well because Hollywood wasn’t (and still isn’t) ready to show a 5’2” male superhero – please don’t even bring The Lord of the Rings OK! Besides finding another actor like Hugh Jackman, would have been like winning the lottery twice.
So, Hugh Jackman is really 6’2” isn’t he? Yes, he was as far as we think, but unfortunately - he seems to have lost some height with age. That happens to many people and for many reasons. One of the reasons is that people who engage in extreme form strength training develop their core muscles too much which results in the curvature of the spine - which is harmless enough, but it makes you just a bit shorter. The Rock is another famous example of this. Prior to getting so muscle-bound, he was 6’2” but now looks around 6’1.5” at best. Or it may be that Hugh simply lost some height with age - it happens in some people sooner than others.
