You have to fight to reach your dream. You have to sacrifice and work hard for it.
~ Lionel Messi
One of the greatest of them all -- Lionel Messi is not a tall guy in real life but is obviously very big in the football (soccer) world.
Height's Importance in Soccer
Most experts agree that unless you are a striker or a center Back, soccer is all about mobility. Especially in the 21st-century soccer has become less physical, meaning strength associated with higher body mass has become less useful.
And as it happens, shorter players have better stamina on the field because of their lower weight. Taller players are generally heavier, which takes a toll on the heart and thus stamina.
You can definitely shed weight but as a rule, taller players have heavier bones too -- and there is no way of shedding that.
About Lionel Messi's Real Height
There is not much to talk about Messi's real height, he has been described in the media as anywhere from 5 feet 6 inches to 5'7" tall.
Messi definitely looks even shorter at times -- but that is perhaps because of his body proportions -- his relatively short legs than anything else.
At Paris Saint-Germain F.C. Messi's height was listed as 169 cm (5'6½"). After taking a careful look at him, we think that's perhaps the best number to describe his height.
So Messi is around 7 inches shorter than Cristiano Rolando (6'1") and around 2 inches taller than Diego Maradona (5'4½").
The height of Lionel Messi is
